 • Online Payment of Fees for Classified Trades (Trade Fees)

Following amendment to Local Government Act, online payment for Trade Fees can, henceforth, be effected on the website of the Corporate and Business Registration Department (companies.govmu.org) with effect from 03 January 2020.
Those exempted (i.e Trade fees not more than MUR 5,000) from payment of trade fees will have their exemption certificate posted to them. These businesses are not required to effect any payment.

 • Online Application of Building and Land Use Permits

The District Council of Grand Port informs the public in general that application for Building and Land Use Permit can be made online on the Government of Mauritius Business Licensing Platform:- https://business.edbmauritius.org

Applicants are hereby requested to register with an email address on the Government of Mauritius Business Licensing Platform in order to use the online service.

Occupation Certificate
In line with Section 120C of the Local Government Act 2018 where a building has been erected pursuant to a Building and Land Use Permit, application of an Occupation Certificate should be submitted online on the National E-Licencing System on the Government Portal https://business.edbmauritius.org as from Monday 1st April 2019 .

List of Registered Contractors – Construction Industry Authority (CIA)

The holder of a Building Land and Use Permit (BLUP) must hire a contractor who is registered with the Construction Industry Authority (CIA) to carry out the construction works. A list of registered contractors can be downloaded from the website of the CIA at https://cidbregistration.govmu.org/cidbfront/pages/listOfValidCertificates.xhtml
